Comparison of Social Validity Ratings With the Effects of a Video-Feedback Intervention for Communication Partners of Individuals With Deafblindness

The parents, teachers, and professional caregivers of individuals with disabilities may benefit from interventions to enhance their educational skills. In previous studies, positive effects were observed a video-feedback intervention for (i.e. caregivers) on communication an individual congenital deafblindness. they received, was the High-Quality Communication (HQC) intervention. aim current study gain insight into perceived relevance, feasibility, effectiveness (i.e., social validity) HQC-intervention according these caregivers, correspondence between validity ratings observational HQC-intervention. Responses Social Validity Scale 25 who participated in revealed that considered HQC be relevant, feasible, effective Comparing caregiver at case level, we found no association this caregivers’ opinions about its feasibility effectiveness. There however, rated effectiveness, which suggests success influenced by experienced competency supporting CDB. combination data enabled critical analysis clinical value We recommend future studies use multiple source assessment.
